We’re looking for a practical and reliable Fleet Maintenance Assistant to help ensure our vehicle fleet is always safe, clean, and ready to go. This is a mobile, hands-on role that involves basic vehicle checks, coordinating servicing and repairs, and responding quickly to any issues reported by staff.
Role: Fleet Maintenance Assistant
Salary: Pro-rata of £25,000 FTE (actual salary £15,625 for 25 hours/week)
Working Hours: 25 hours per week (flexible within standard working hours)
Location: Mobile across Ward

Key Responsibilities
* Conduct regular vehicle checks (tyres, fluid levels, warning lights, damage)
* Arrange and manage vehicle servicing, MOTs, and minor repairs in coordination with external garages
* Collect and deliver vehicles for servicing, repairs, or reallocation
* Respond to vehicle issues reported by staff and carry out minor fault resolution where appropriate
* Ensure vehicles are clean, presentable, and roadworthy at all times
* Support record-keeping and reporting in collaboration with the Fleet Co-ordinator
* Maintain basic stock (e.g., bulbs, wipers, fluids) and equipment required for vehicle upkeep
* Report any safety or compliance concerns promptly
* Full UK manual driving licence with a clean driving record
* Previous experience in a vehicle-related role or basic mechanical knowledge
* Comfortable working outdoors/in a mobile capacity
* Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
* Good communication and problem-solving skills
* Experience in a fleet or logistics environment – desirable
* Familiarity with vehicle inspection protocols and vehicle maintenance
* Knowledge of basic vehicle repairs or servicing
