Job Summary
My client is seeking an experienced and detail focused Electrical Estimator to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical installation projects across commercial and industrial sectors. You will work closely with pre-construction, commercial, and project delivery teams to support successful tender submissions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Review blueprints, technical drawings and project specifications to identify the full electrical scope, including wire lengths, fixtures, and distribution systems.
2. Carry out material take-offs quantifying all necessary materials (e.g. conduits, switches, lighting, cables) and researching current market prices to ensure accurate costing.
3. Analyse labour, plant, materials, preliminaries, and overheads.
4. Estimating the required man-hours based on project complexity and determining the costs for specialised equipment like lifts or generators.
5. Compiling detailed bid packages and formal quotations to compete for new contracts.
6. Coordinating with suppliers for quotes, negotiating with subcontractors, and presenting final estimates to clients or senior management.
