Summary Processing supplier invoices with accuracy, matching delivery notes to invoices and resolving discrepancies, liaising with the commercial department to resolve queries, performing supplier and subcontractor statement reconciliations, preparing bank payments, reconciling company credit card reconciliations, and assisting with quarter-end tasks. What you'll do at work We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our finance team as an Apprentice Accounts Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start or progress their career in accounting, with full support to study AAT Level 2 or 3. Duties: Processing supplier invoices and matching them to purchase orders. Checking invoice accuracy and resolving discrepancies. Responding to supplier queries regarding payments or invoices. Filing and archiving invoices and payment confirmations. Record and analyse financial data using the organisation’s standard tools and processes. Apply double entry bookkeeping and accounting standards to process financial documents, generate financial statements and report financial information to users of accounts. Assist with production of accurate financial information for the preparation of accounts. Reconcile financial data, such as, preparation of reconciliations or review of reconciliations. Investigate, resolve or escalate transactional queries and errors within their remit as appropriate. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders. Communicate financial information in a way that non-finance stakeholders can interpret and understand. Utilise digital skills to present key financial information using finance and accounting software and applications. Use software packages to assist with basic accounting tasks in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data. Communicate using varying approaches and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications. Training schedule Formal training is delivered at HWGTA, located in Worcester (WR4 9GN). You will receive training one day per week which is a combination of face-to-face and remote, as per your assigned training plan. Additional training for functional skills in English and Maths will be undertaken if needed. You will receive monthly visits from your assigned Learning and Development Specialist, who will set you work, monitor your development and wellbeing, and discuss training sessions. More training information There is also a five-day teambuilding residential trip that is held in the spring of each year offered to all apprentices on programme. Requirements Essential qualifications GCSE in: English (grade AC/ 4-9) Maths (grade AC/ 4-9) Desirable qualifications Other in: AAT (grade Level 2) Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience.
