Job Title: AWS DevOps Engineer
Rate: £500 (Inside IR35)

Key Responsibilities
* Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS/Azure) following government and departmental standards.
* Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, secure, and reliable software delivery.
* Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, Pulumi).
* Ensure platform reliability through monitoring, observability, alerting, and performance tuning.
* Contribute to secure-by-default environments, applying security best practices and collaborating with cyber teams.
* Support containerised applications using Docker and orchestration tools (Kubernetes/EKS/AKS).
* Automate operational processes and reduce manual overhead wherever possible.
* Provide technical expertise during incident response, troubleshooting, and post-incident reviews.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote DevOps culture and continuous improvement.
* Contribute to architectural discussions and platform strategy.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure).
* Strong Infrastructure as Code knowledge (Terraform preferred).
* Proven experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.).
* Proficiency with Linux systems engineering and Shell scripting.
* Understanding of containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
* Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.).
* Experience implementing robust security practices in cloud and DevOps environments.
* Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable Skills
* Experience working in public sector or regulated environments.
* Knowledge of GDS (Government Digital Service) standards and the Technology Code of Practice.
* Familiarity with Zero Trust, IAM, and secrets management.
* Experience with serverless architectures.
* Background working in Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
