Overview

Are you highly organised, technically experienced, and passionate about keeping things running smoothly? We’re looking for a proactive and detail-driven Technical Coordinator to join our team and ensure that all scheduled work is ready to go — on time, on budget, and with all the right resources in place. This is a critical role where your planning and coordination skills will directly support frontline technicians, enabling them to complete essential maintenance work efficiently and safely.

What You’ll Be Doing as a Technical Coordinator

* Planning and coordinating maintenance activities using SAP.
* Ensuring all tools, materials, permits, and skilled personnel are in place before work starts.
* Working closely with Field Performance Managers, Planners, and Technicians to align on work schedules.
* Understanding asset care plans and the criticality of assets within the wider operational environment.
* Chasing suppliers, coordinating deliveries, and managing the receipting process.
* Supporting team development by providing technical advice and mentoring trainees where needed.
* Participating in team huddles and contributing to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
* Keeping costs within budget and sourcing best-value materials and services.
* Ensuring that health & safety requirements are fully understood and integrated into planning.

Essential Criteria

* Proven experience in maintenance planning, ideally in the Water, Waste, Utilities or similar technical sector.
* Strong technical understanding of asset maintenance and job design.
* Familiarity with SAP or similar systems for planning and resource coordination.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Confident working with suppliers, third parties, and cross-functional teams.
* Good local knowledge of operational assets and how they interconnect.
* Clear understanding of health & safety regulations.
* A strong communicator and a natural problem-solver.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
* A clean driving licence is essential.

What’s in it for you?

* Salary up to £45,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
* Car allowance.
* Annual leave of 26 days, increasing to 30 with length of service (plus bank holidays).
* Generous paternity leave, including 4 weeks paid and an optional 2 weeks unpaid; enhanced maternity leave, 26 weeks full pay and 13 weeks half pay.
* Generous pension scheme through AON.
* Benefits to support health, wellbeing, and finances, including health MOTs, access to physiotherapy and counselling, Cycle to Work schemes, shopping vouchers, and life assurance.
