Estimator - Job Overview
* Analyse tender drawings, specifications, and client requirements
* Carry out take-offs from drawings and, where required, site measurements
* Assist in pricing works including labour, plant, and materials
* Support the preparation and submission of competitive tenders
* Identify risks and commercial opportunities within tender submissions
* Review and flag onerous contract terms to senior team members
* Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
* Assist in preparing tender packages and negotiating supplier quotes
* Maintain accurate cost databases and estimating records
* Provide general support to the estimating and sales teams
Estimator - Job Requirements
* Previous experience in an estimating or commercial support role (ideally within civils, surfacing, or construction)
* Strong numerical and analytical skills
* Ability to interpret drawings and specifications
* Good understanding of construction materials, labour, and pricing principles
* Excellent organisation and time management skills
* Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders
* Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
