Job Description
We’re seeking an experienced Production Planner responsible for producing detailed executable production schedules to meet customer demands. This is a unique opportunity to make a real impact to drive our planning process through startup, first manufacture, and production ramp-up of our new production facility which opens in 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
* You'll create and issue production schedules (daily and weekly) over a 0–3-month horizon that align with demand and capacity.
* You will react swiftly to changes in plans due to demand upsides, production delays or material shortages
* We'll rely on your expertise in optimising production efficiency by balancing priorities, changeovers, and plant capacity.
* You will collaborate with supply chain and Operations to validate plans
* Accountability for seeing plans through from initiation to conclusion
* You will be pivotal in monitoring blocked and slow-moving inventory
* You will be key in managing SAP Master Data for Planning Operations
* You will act as the key interface between Supply Chain Planning and Plant Operations.
Qualifications
* Degree in relevant field (or equivalent experience)
* 2-5 years detailed production planning or scheduling experience in FMCG/Food & Drink/Pharmaceutical industries (batch manufacture desirable)
* Advanced capacity planning skills
* Advanced ERP/ SAP/APO knowledge
* Clear and adaptive communication, ensuring stakeholders are informed and aligned.
* Proactive problem-solving, anticipating issues before they arise.
* Understanding of supply chain concepts
* Customer-focused mindset

The site was founded in 1919 and today employs nearly 400 skilled people in a variety of roles that include manufacturing, engineering, scientific and production support. Our goal is to operate “safely, reliably and cost effectively” and to help growers protect their crops and increase their yield.
At Syngenta Grangemouth we have four plants dedicated to active ingredient (AI) manufacture, and one formulation and packaging plant. Our Seedcare asset is due to open in 2026.
