Your responsibilities
Responsibilities:-
1. Provide assistance and support to the Logistics controller.
2. Prepare and produce all documentation for our export orders. This will include marking up parcels and packages in our stores area and will involve moderate lifting and handling.
3. Making arrangements for transportation by truck, sea freight or air freight.
4. Be the Company contact for the handling of all courier requirements including the despatch of manuals, documentation and other miscellaneous items.
5. Maintain the shipping database system.
6. Obtain quotes for delivery costs on behalf of our sales teams to allow prices to be quoted to our customers.
7. Provide cover for the Logistics manager as and when required.
8. Responsibility for creating new projects & maintaining data on the ERP system.
9. Responsible for maintaining project log.
10. Responsibility for maintaining project milestone data.
11. Responsibility for working with project managers to maintain month end financial information.
12. Provide daily support to Project Managers as required.
13. Progress to managing smaller standard product projects.
Essential Skills and Attributes:-
1. Ability to communicate with all levels of staff up to, and including, Directors.
2. Ability to communicate in a professional manner with our customers, freight forwarders, Chamber of Commerce and export institutes.
3. Proficient in use of Microsoft and Internet based IT packages.
4. High numeracy skills.
5. Must be able to work in a confidential manner as part of a team with minimal supervision and follow established methods of working.
6. Ability to prioritise workload and switch attention from job to job.
