Product Development Engineer – Glasgow
Location: Glasgow
Term: Permanent
Salary: £40,000 – £60,000 per annum, dependent on experience
Company: Premier Group client designing and manufacturing bespoke metal and plastic products for UK and global customers.
Qualifications
* BEng or BSc in Product Design, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering or comparable
* At least 5 years experience in a product development or design engineering role
* Strong experience with injection moulding
* Innovative, creative and passionate about design and manufacture
* Proficient using 3D CAD – ideally Fusion360, other software acceptable
* Experience delivering projects from concept to manufacture
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Experience coaching, managing or leading a team
* Strong FMEA and DFM skills
* Good understanding of materials and manufacturing processes
Responsibilities
* Lead teams focused on design and development of new products
* Manage and maintain processes, driving improvements and initiatives
* Oversee injection moulding activities
* Validate and deliver full product life cycle, ensuring standards and requirements
* Manage deadlines, budgets and timescales
* Provide technical expertise
* BOM management working with company ERP system
* Apply continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing principles
* Interface with customers for R&D technical liaison
