Location: Knutsford (2–3 days onsite, non‑consecutive)
Rate: £480/day (Inside IR35)

We’re seeking a Payments Solution Architect to design and deliver secure, scalable, and compliant Open Banking and payments solutions. This is a hands‑on architecture role, ideal for someone passionate about shaping the future of digital payments, open APIs, and seamless customer journeys across cards, current accounts, and lending products.
What You’ll Do
* Lead the design and integration of Open Banking and payments platforms, ensuring they’re secure, compliant, and scalable.
* Translate business needs into robust technical designs covering data models, APIs, and distributed systems.
* Define customer journeys and onboarding flows that enhance user experience while meeting regulatory and security requirements.
* Collaborate with engineering and business teams to deliver end‑to‑end payment and servicing architectures.
* Ensure alignment with PCI, ISO 20022, and Open Banking standards.
* Stay ahead of emerging fintech trends to future‑prove the payments architecture.
What You’ll Bring
* Proven experience in Open Banking and Payments architecture — covering authorization, tokenization, and transaction processing.
* Strong integration background, working across systems, gateways, APIs, and third‑party services.
* Hands‑on design skills in customer journeys & onboarding experiences; servicing flows across banking ecosystems; logical & physical data modeling across cards, current accounts, and lending products.
* Deep technical understanding of Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
* Strong OOAD, UML, and modern architectural pattern experience.
* Excellent communication skills — able to bridge the gap between business and technology.
