Nordex has an exciting opportunity for the role of Local Operations Manager covering our windfarms across the Central East Scotland region.

Location: This role is based at our Stirling Service Point
How can you make a difference?
Working as an integral part of the UK & Ireland Region service team, the Local Operations Manager provides strong leadership of the service teams in the region, being a role model for safety and delivering effective financial management for the region.
As a leader, this role requires strong commercial acumen, leadership skills with the ability to drive success through the team, and a customer-focused approach. This role is also responsible for ensuring that all service activities are completed within specified timeframes and quality standards.
What will you be doing?
Key activities for this role include:
1. Overall responsibility for QHSE in your respective service area, implementing internal and external regulations as required to ensure QHSE compliance
2. Displaying Role model behaviours and actively driving safety and safe working practices in your Service area
3. Overall responsibility for the financial and commercial performance of your Service area (CSO) including budget planning and performance
4. Effectively driving and reporting on KPI’s meeting all reporting requirements
5. Overall responsibility for operational performance in the service area by ensuring availability of Wind Turbine Generator (WTG)
6. Managing stock levels and inventory
7. Providing leadership to the site teams and effectively delegating to team leads to ensure all work is carried out effectively, safely and to the required standard as well as reviewing and managing team performance
8. Recruitment and development of all service employees within the service area including the identification of training and development needs to build and maintain a high-performing team
9. Creating and implementing staffing plans for the area
10. Analysing operational data to monitor team, individuals’ and wind farm performance and act as appropriate to share successes, address shortfalls and make improvements
11. Ensuring that quality standards are always met and acting as a role model for quality
12. Ensuring a smooth transfer from build phase team to the Service team
13. Creating business plans for new service points in case of growth in the area, or needed for relocation due to business development
14. Overseeing site safety auditing and reporting
15. Ensuring management of site facilities
16. Management of large operations (such as gearbox exchange) and improvement initiatives
17. Managing customer operational topics and ensuring effective and collaborative communication
18. Reviewing reporting from the site: Maintenance, HSE, timekeeping and making sure that reports will be submitted on time
19. Checking employees’ time tracking regularly to ensure compliance with Working Time Regulations and submit correct data for payroll purposes
20. Working closely and in cooperation with local Project Management
21. Working on other initiatives to improve efficiency and competitiveness
What are we looking for?
The successful candidate will have experience of working in a leadership role within the wind industry or a similar sector and will have completed an apprenticeship or have relevant experience in a Mechanical or Electrical engineering role.
You will have a working knowledge in commercial or financial controls and be comfortable with managing financial performance, KPI’s and budgets. A qualification or relevant experience in business management would also be desirable.
Experience of managing remote field-based teams is essential to this role alongside having the ability to deal with the full spectrum of people management.

Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate is required to hold a full UK Driving Licence. There is also a requirement to travel on a regular basis which will require nights away from home.
