We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic individual who is passionate about the health of people in County Durham, to join our Public Health team as a Public Health Strategic Manager. We are appointing 1x Full Time Temporary post for up to 12 Months to cover maternity leave; however, the period may be shorter if the substantive postholder returns sooner. County Durham is the largest local authority in the North East and this is a senior appointment within the Council with postholders being responsible for delivering the Council’s statutory duties as well as shaping and commissioning significant strategic programmes across the life course. WHAT IS INVOLVED? The role of the Public Health Strategic Manager is a pivotal role in each team. They will be responsible for a programme of strategic work in delivering the Durham County Council (DCC) Public Health Vision and Strategic Plan, leading a team of staff in order to achieve a range of objectives. WHAT WILL I NEED? Required Qualifications: Applicants will have a Master’s Degree in Public Health, Health Promotion or related field, and evidence of continuing professional development.
