About the role:
The University of Lancashire wishes to recruit a Sound and Media Technician to join our Technical Services team who primarily provide technical support to the wide variety of sound design and media related facilities on the Preston campus.
Duties will include providing technical support for the audio technical equipment based in our Recording Studios, TV Studio, Ensemble Rooms and all other studios. You will provide day to day technical support and advice to staff and students in the use of these facilities and its resources.
You will also be required to coordinate and undertake installations, maintenance and configuration of equipment and ensure appropriate procedures and practices are followed. On occasion you will be expected to work on assessed live performances, supporting students from across a broad range of course disciplines.
About you:
You will need to be practical with a high level of competence in the use and support of a wide range of audio equipment and techniques, backed up with great customer service skills. You will also have a good understanding of Health and Safety procedures, and experience of carrying out risk assessments would be advantageous.
You will have a range of GCSE's including Maths & English GCSE Grade C/ 4 or above (or equivalent).
