We have an exciting opportunity for you to join RSK Geosciences, part of RSK Group in Coventry as a Geo-Environmental Engineer. This is a full-time, permanent position. Working alongside an experienced team based UK-wide, you will be involved in a variety of geotechnical and land contamination projects across sectors including energy infrastructure, renewable energy, development/regeneration, and local authorities.
RSK Geosciences has been involved in high-profile, award-winning projects recognized at the Environment Analyst Brownfield Awards. Our staff have been shortlisted for prestigious awards such as the Ground Engineering Rising Star Awards and Environment Analyst Technical Lead. Our training programme also won the 2024 Ground Engineering Award for Excellence in Learning and Development.
What you can expect in this position:
As a geo-environmental engineer, you’ll undertake project investigations, focusing on site-based work, including geo-environmental and geotechnical site investigations, data interpretation, and reporting. The role suits someone with a proactive approach, attention to detail, enthusiasm, and good interpersonal skills.
What you'll be doing:
* Undertaking Preliminary Risk Assessments (Phase 1 Desk Studies) and intrusive site investigations in line with standards
* Managing fieldwork activities, supervising drilling, excavation, gas, and groundwater monitoring
* Supporting project planning, liaising with subcontractors, and preparing SHEQ documentation
* Scheduling samples for laboratory testing
* Writing factual and interpretative reports
* Supporting tender proposals
What we're looking for:
* BSc degree in Geology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related field
* 2-3 years relevant experience
* Rock core logging skills are advantageous but not essential
* Willingness to spend significant time on site
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to multitask and work independently or in a team
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Proactive professional development, membership of relevant body preferred
* Full UK driving license
