Working within Aureos Highways Business Unit, and forming a part of the Operational team, the Senior Site Engineer plays an integral part in delivering schemes to a high standard, on time and budget. Reporting to the Sub Agent, core responsibilities encompass project delivery in line with our lean construction process and effective QESH management.
Core responsibilities
Project delivery
* Setting out, levelling and surveying the construction site
* Ensure compliance with construction drawings and record any variances
* Overseeing quality control
* Ensure Site diaries and allocation sheets are produced
* Keep contemporary records
* Review Cl32 programme with site team
* Monitor subcontractor and supplier performance
* Attend weekly site meetings
* Coordinate with the design manager to ensure that the design activities are visible and that all activities are aligned to support the programme
* Regular review of the Cost to Complete with the project managers/quantity surveyors
Lean construction
Lean construction forms an integral part of our approach to project delivery, and has been identified as essential to the sustained growth of the business. The Senior Site Engineer is responsible for the following in this respect:
* Attend and contribute to collaborative planning sessions on a fortnightly basis
* Attend project Risk review meetings on a fortnightly basis
* Produce production control and Planned Activities Complete data
* Liaise with Lean Champions
* Contribute to the collaborative action plan and review regularly
QESH
Lead by example, set the highest possible standards of leadership in promotion of QESH best practice, ensuring compliance with company procedure, policy and legal obligations.
* Ensure RAMS and safe systems of work are followed by site teams
* Supervise temporary works operations
* Produce permits and ensure safe digging and service avoidance procedures are followed
* Produce as built drawings
* Promote Near Miss and Positive Intervention
* Ensure all waste transfer notes are recorded
Supplementary responsibilities
We operate a team ethos across the Infrastructure Business Unit, and strive to assist colleagues in the execution of their duties where this is appropriate and brings added value. The Senior Site Engineer is responsible for the following in this respect:
* Commitment to their own professional development, and that of others across the Business Unit
* Assistance with the implementation of the BIM Execution Plan when a project requires it
* Other tasks appropriate to the role of Senior Engineer, as identified by the Operations Manager/Senior Project Manager/Project Manager

About You
Key requirements include:
* Experience of working on civil engineering/highways projects
* Previous experience working on National Highways projects is preferable, but not essential
* Strong communication skills
