We have a brand-new exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Health and Safety Assistant. Your focus will be to support Sodexo Live at St James Park with major events operational management and front-line team members, ensuring compliance with Sodexo UKI's HSEQ Policies and Food Safety Policy. This role is suitable for someone with a keen interest in food health and safety who can ensure compliance.
Responsibilities include:
1. Working under the supervision of the Health & Safety Advisor to ensure adherence to regulatory, statutory requirements, and best practice guidance.
2. Supporting the HSE Advisor and operational team in delivering the HSE plan through continuous improvement and assurance of effective management systems, strategic initiatives, cultural development, and leadership.
3. Supporting due diligence and corporate responsibility, requiring good communication and influencing skills with all levels of staff on site.
4. Assisting with the writing of risk assessments, safe operating procedures, and safe systems of work.
5. Creating analytical reports of safety data.
6. Conducting workplace inspections, hazard identification, and risk reduction.
7. Coordinating HSE meetings, including minute taking and action tracking.
8. Supporting employee briefing, training, and development.

* Certification to Level 3 Health and Safety Technician Qualification, to be achieved within the agreed timescale.
