Offer description

We have a fantastic opportunity for the right person to join our friendly and supportive Monmouth Court team as our Independent Living Scheme Manager.

Monmouth Court provides supported long-term accommodation for older people in 17 one-bedroom bungalows with private courtyard gardens. Our team supports residents to live as independently as possible in their homes. “I am proud to manage a scheme where we have seen older people able to get their independence and confidence back. Our scheme is much more than just buildings – we’re a big supportive family!”– Current Scheme Manager

The Role

This is a fabulous opportunity for anyone who is passionate about supporting older people to live a happy and fulfilling life. This role offers a new challenge where you can create and embed your own footprint to make a positive difference.

As a Scheme manager you will provide a housing management service to tenants who live independently within the Scheme (17 bungalows), and acting as a coordinator, signposting and liaising with tenants’ families and working in partnership with external agencies to ensure tenant needs are met. You will be responsible for running the scheme as a whole, reporting repairs and completing Health and Safety checks to ensure we consistently deliver a high service at all times. You will manage voids and lettings, ensuring the scheme is maintained and being responsible for tenant engagement and involvement. You will enjoy the company of our tenants and interact with them daily to ensure you and the team are providing the best possible care that you would want for a family member yourself. Please refer to the role profile for a more information.

What we are looking for

Our ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of current social housing and housing management issues, as well as knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting older people. They will have demonstrable understanding of people’s human rights, knowledge of health and safety and food hygiene issues, and substantial and demonstrable experience of supporting vulnerable people. You will also have experience of successfully managing individuals, and ideally, experience of successfully supporting change in a team or business. Finally, you will have an understanding of the needs of people from diverse social, cultural and racial backgrounds, as you will need to commit and promote NCHA’s CLEAR values and purpose.

Please note you will be asked to complete a work-related test as part of the interview process.

Working Hours

The 18 hours per week will be covered over a minimum of 3 days per week; there is flexibility around which days of the week but working days must be between Monday and Friday. Our Head Office is based in Clifton and you will be required to attend trainings here on occasion.
