Job Title: Export Controller

Job Summary
Our client are a leading engineering company who are currently seeking a Export Controller to join the team.
As Export controller you will be responsible for managing the export process of goods moving from the UK, and occasionally intra EU / Worldwide movements, and be familiar with HMRC and customs requirements. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager this exciting role will provide an opportunity to hit the ground running to support the export strategy of the business and promote the importance of international trade and customs compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Liaise with agents, freight forwarders and hauliers regarding documents, correct commodity code usage, duty payments and bookings.
Produce required shipping documents including commercial invoices, packing lists, EUR1 forms.
Maintain internal relationships with the Group’s control manager and compliance processes.
Undertake continuous analysis of the regulatory environment – commodity code reviews, end use certification, quotas reviews, Export licenses and maintain compliant records for both internal and HMRC audits.
Maintain and monitor HMRC MSS reports and advise on any anomalies to the Supply Chain Manager and Finance department.
Point of contact for all export control enquires.
Good communication skills are required, as it is essential that you interact with other areas of the business to provide delivery updates and information on potential delays.
Follow the training you receive when using any work items given to you.
Take reasonable care of your own and other people’s health and safety.
Support the company with environmental initiatives and any compliance issues.Minimum Qualifications
Education: Minimum of 5 ‘O’ levels including English and Mathematics
Experience: Minimum 3 years’ Export experience including export control regulations; managing customs procedures including IPR and OPR in a rapidly evolving trading landscape and license application.
Required Skills and Abilities

Ability to work swiftly and accurately
IT skills, Microsoft Office and SAP would be desirable
The ability to work under pressure and achieve deadlines
Excellent administration skills and attention to detail
Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment desirable, but not essentialPhysical Demands
35 hours a week from 08.30 to 16.30 with 30 minutes for lunch Mondays to Thursdays and 08.30 to 13:30 without lunch on Friday. However, there may be some flexibility on the exact working times.
