English & Geography Teacher Job in SEMH Provision Haysare working in partnership with small SEN school in rural Leicestershire tofind a SEN Teacher to join their welcoming team on a full-time basis fromSeptember 2025. This is a term-time, temporary-to-permanent position. Theschool is looking for a Teacher with QTS who specialises in English and/orGeography and has experience of working with pupils with SEMH, ASD and ADHD. Your new school ThisOfsted rated 'Good' school provides a holistic, alternative education for youngpeople aged 11-17 who haven't been able to progress in traditional settings.The school is situated on a picturesque 8-acre small-holding between Leicesterand Hinckley and operates as a traditional farm with animals including horses,donkeys and rabbits which the pupils take responsibility for rearing. Pupilsbenefit from a therapeutic approach which allows them to grow, mature andachieve their potential in an environment which fosters a culture of communityand fun. Your new role Thisis a temporary-to-permanent, full-time job to start in September 2025. You’llteach English Language, English Literature and Geography up to GCSE level andwork with like-minded practitioners to deliver a holistic, therapeuticeducation to pupils who are unable to access mainstream education. You willteach classes of up to 5 pupils with the support of a teaching assistantenabling you to offer dedicated 1:1 time to each pupil. To support yourdevelopment, the school provides training for its practitioners every Wednesdayafternoon alongside yearly Team Teach training. You will also have access tofree Hays training courses designed to support your continued professionaldevelopment. What you need to succeed Tosucceed in your new job, you’ll hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) andspecialise in teaching English up to GCSE level with experience teachingGeography, too. We welcome applications from teachers with backgrounds inPrimary, Secondary or SEN education – but wherever you’ve come from, you’ll beproactive and ready for a new challenge. You’ll have a positive approach tobehaviour management and knowledge of de-escalation techniques. It isdesirable, but not essential, that you have experience supporting pupils withSocial, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Conditions(ASD) and/or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
