We are currently seeking a Service Support Engineer to join a leading cable manufacturing company in the Newcastle area. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting internal operations by preparing detailed work instructions, technical documentation, and operational procedures. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in cable manufacturing processes and a strong ability to translate technical knowledge into clear, structured documents.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, write, and maintain technical documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cable manufacturing processes.
* Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to gather and verify technical content.
* Support the implementation of procedural improvements and internal best practices.
* Assist with troubleshooting operational issues and providing technical support to production teams.
* Participate in audits and quality assurance reviews to ensure documentation is accurate and up to date.
* Maintain documentation in line with internal standards and industry regulations.
* Track and report on the progress of document control activities.
Requirements:
* Proven experience working in a cable manufacturing environment (HV/FO or similar).
* Strong technical writing skills with the ability to produce clear and concise documentation.
* Familiarity with manufacturing procedures, cable routing, assembly, and testing processes.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and engineering specifications.
* Proficient in MS Office and relevant document management systems.
* Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Engineering or technical background preferred (Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering).
