Overview
Dorrington House requires a dedicated and conscientious care assistant to join our friendly team on a full-time/part time basis. We’re seeking a caring and compassionate individual who enjoys interacting with residents and assisting them with their daily living activities. Candidates must be warm and friendly, with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and a genuine passion for providing our residents with high quality care and support.
Principal Responsibilities
* To assist in planning, delivering and evaluating individualized resident care and to contribute to the planning and implementation of person centered care plans.
* To be a Keyworker for Residents.
* To assist and encourage residents with their nutritional needs, physical comfort, personal hygiene and appearance – all activities of daily living:
* Assist residents at meal times as required.
* Assist residents with mobility problems and other physical disabilities, and in the use and care of moving and handling equipment and personal equipment. Help in resident comfort.
* Assist residents with bathing, washing, care of hair, teeth, and nails.
* Assist with dressing, undressing, toileting and continence.
* Assist in the promotion of mental and physical activity of residents through talking to them, taking them out, sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreations.
* To ensure the custody and administration of medication in accordance with Policies.
* To help Team leaders with observations. To record on charts i.e., fluid, continence, temperature etc. To inform Team Leaders of any problems that arise.
* To make and change beds, tidy rooms, inspect clothing and do any cleaning if required, clean sluice rooms, clean wheelchairs and walking aids.
* To set up tables and trays, prepare light meals; serve meals and drinks, clear/clean and tidy kitchen areas, dining and communal areas.
* To help in Kitchen duties i.e. food preparation etc.
* Answer call and emergency bells, the door and the telephone.
* To report to Team Leaders if any resident gives cause for concern.
* To be aware of the spiritual needs of residents.
* To maintain confidentiality, privacy and dignity of residents at all times

12 Hour shift pattern 08:00 - 20:00 - Days 20:00 - 08:00 Nights
Day/ Night and Bank shifts available
Experience is not essential, if you are a caring person, we will support you to gain all the necessary knowledge for the job role.
