Brief Description
Join the best-of-the-best in rail engineering. Our Technician Fast Track scheme is an intensive training programme for those with the grit, determination and potential to excel. The programme starts you as an Operative and trains you in classroom and on-site environments to progress to Technician level. This is suitable for college leavers with vocational skills, career switchers, or those restarting their career.
How the Programme Works
You’ll start as an Operative and train with a small group, progressing through to Technician level over time (roughly 18 months to two years).
We Have Two Engineering Disciplines
* Signalling: Maintain signals, points and track circuits. Work in teams, on varied 24/7 shifts, diagnosing and repairing electrical faults.
* Track (Permanent Way): Maintain and repair tracks with teams of five to six. Use technology and inspections to keep the network safe and efficient.

Essential Requirements
* Full clean driving licence.
* Willingness to undertake medical assessments, including drug and alcohol testing.
