Job Description
We are recruiting for a Health & Safety Coordinator in Thirsk to support a busy manufacturing/production environment on a temporary basis.
This is a hands-on, site-based role responsible for supporting day-to-day health & safety compliance, assisting with audits, maintaining documentation, and promoting a strong safety culture across operations. The position is offered on a fixed-term contract of up to 6 months, working full-time hours.
Key Responsibilities
* Support implementation and maintenance of health & safety procedures across site operations
* Assist with risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work
* Conduct routine site inspections and report findings with corrective actions
* Maintain accurate H&S records, documentation, and compliance logs
* Support incident reporting, investigations, and follow-up actions
* Help coordinate safety training and toolbox talks
* Promote awareness of safe working practices across teams
* Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure ongoing compliance with regulations

Key Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in a Health & Safety or compliance-related role
* Working knowledge of UK H&S legislation and best practice
* Ability to carry out risk assessments and site inspections
* Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills
* Confident communicator across all levels of a business
* NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent) desirable but not essential
* Proactive, practical approach to problem-solving in operational environments
* Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
