Early Years Teaching Assistant – Maidstone
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term (Until July 2026 – Potential for Permanent Placement)
Location: Maidstone
Pay: £90–£100 per day (depending on experience)
Supply Desk are working in partnership with a small, friendly primary school in Maidstone, who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their Reception team from September 2025. This is a full-time, long-term position with the potential to become permanent, ideal for anyone looking to develop their career in Early Years education.
This role is particularly suited to:
* Level 3 qualified Early Years practitioners
* Graduates in a child or education-related degree, or
* Candidates with experience supporting in Early Years settings

Key Responsibilities:
* Work alongside the class teacher in a Reception class, supporting children in their learning and development in line with the EYFS framework
* Provide targeted support to children with a range of needs, including speech and language difficulties, ASD, or other additional needs
* Lead and support small group activities and contribute to the creation of engaging, age-appropriate learning environments
* Encourage and foster independence and confidence in pupils as they begin their learning journey
* Assist in tracking children’s progress through observations and feedback, supporting the class teacher in assessments
Requirements:
* Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare, OR
* Degree in a child or education-related subject, OR
* Strong, relevant experience in an Early Years or Reception setting
* Sound knowledge of the EYFS curriculum
* A warm, patient and nurturing approach, with a strong passion for working with young children
* Strong communication and teamworking skills
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
