Job Description

Trainee Employment Solicitor

Glasgow

We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Employment Solicitor to join our Legal team in Glasgow, starting in September 2026 on a two-year fixed-term contract, with a salary set at the Law Society recommended trainee rate plus 5%.

The Company

WorkNest, part of the wider Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) division owned by Axiom GRC, is expanding fast. Our group includes experts in Employment Law, HR, Health & Safety, Cybersecurity, ISO and Compliance. We are powered by pragmatic advice and cutting-edge technology.

Our growth across the UK and international markets has been strengthened by acquisitions including Bulletproof, Pentest People, IMSM and Wirehouse. Building on this strong foundation, we are now focused on reaching £250 million in revenue, delivering more than 25% CAGR through a combination of organic growth and future strategic acquisitions.

Purpose of the Role

WorkNest is seeking to recruit a Trainee Employment Solicitor to join our Employment Law team in September 2026. The position will be based in our Glasgow office, with occasional travel between the offices being a requirement of the role. At WorkNest you will have the chance to shine - we provide real opportunities for growth and career development in a supportive and collegiate environment with a healthy dose of work/life balance thrown in for good measure.

Working with a diverse range of clients of all shapes and sizes throughout the UK, your role as Trainee Employment Solicitor will be to advise and represent our clients dealing with anything from straightforward queries to complex, high-value employment law issues. The role involves a high degree of autonomy and client contact. You may also have the opportunity to represent clients at employment tribunal hearings throughout the UK.

We’re proud that our innovative and collegiate working environment breaks the traditional law firm mould and, at the same time, we’re confident we offer the highest quality of service to our clients.

The role will be for an initial two-year fixed term contract with an opportunity for those who thrive in the role to then remain with WorkNest in a permanent position.
