Software Development Manager, Payables Tech
The Amazon Finance Automation Technology Team is seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to lead the development of next-generation distributed, scalable financial systems. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with data, and is excited by complex, real-time business challenges.
This role involves leading a team to build scalable, high-performance distributed systems using industry-leading technologies. As a Software Development Manager at Amazon, you will work on real-world, large-scale problems, owning end-to-end system development, and influencing technological direction impacting hundreds of millions of customers worldwide.
You will design flexible and scalable solutions, tackling some of the most complex challenges in large-scale computing, leveraging skills in data structures, algorithms, software development, Machine Learning, and object-oriented programming. Your responsibilities include designing, building, testing, and implementing scalable solutions.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree
* 3+ years of engineering team management experience
* 7+ years of engineering experience
* 8+ years of experience in defining and developing multi-tier web services
* Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns across the software/hardware/networks development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, certification, and live site operations
* Experience collaborating with product and program management teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience communicating with users, technical teams, and senior leadership to gather requirements, describe software features, technical designs, and product strategy
* Experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and managing software engineers to enhance their skills and effectiveness
