Prospero Teaching are seeking a passionate SENDCO to join our client SEMH School’s leadership team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing our inclusion strategy, supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and ensuring that all students have access to high-quality education.
As a SENCO, you will:
* Lead and oversee the Annual Review process for EHCPs, ensuring timely completion and full compliance with statutory requirements.
* Chair and manage emergency Annual Reviews, collaborating with parents, carers, and external professionals to adapt and enhance provision as needed.
* Contribute to the strategic direction of the school, ensuring SEND provision aligns with the school improvement plan (SIP).
* Monitor and review the quality of SEND provision across the school, identifying areas for improvement and implementing practical solutions.
* Collaborate with the Local Authority (LA) to secure appropriate funding and resources to meet students’ evolving needs.
* Develop, implement, and monitor provisions outlined in EHCPs.
* Provide professional guidance, training, and support to staff, promoting high-quality teaching and inclusive practices.
* Maintain accurate SEND registers and provision maps, ensuring up-to-date records and data that inform strategic decisions.
* Support smooth transitions for students, liaising with staff, parents, carers, external agencies, and other schools to coordinate and enhance support.
* Develop and implement teaching and learning initiatives, ensuring quality-first teaching across the school.
* Effectively communicate the needs of students.
About you:
* You have qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and appropriate SENDCO qualification or willingness to undertake SENDCO training.
* Proven experience working with children with special educational needs.
* Strong leadership and management skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders

* Hold right to work in the UK
* Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
* Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
