The Role
As EMCCA’s Systems Accountant, you will be the organisation’s subject-matter expert for the finance system—leading on its configuration, integrations, reporting capability and continuous improvement.
You’ll ensure the system operates effectively, remainspliant with regulatory and audit requirements, and evolves to support EMCCA’s strategic and operational needs. You’ll also act as a superuser, providing training and guidance to colleagues across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and enhance the configuration, integrations and reporting capabilities of the finance system.
2. Drive system development and continuous improvement to meet operational, reporting and regulatory requirements.
3. Serve as EMCCA’s primary advisor on finance system functionality, controls,ernance and best practice.
4. Act as the main liaison with the system provider, managing upgrades, issue resolution and contract matters.
5. Manage interfaces with feeder systems (, payroll, banking), ensuring accurate data flows and successful reconciliations.
6. Design and maintain robust system controls, workflows, approval hierarchies and segregation of duties.
7. Lead system‑related projects, including integrations, upgrades and enhancements.
8. Provide expert training and system support to users across EMCCA.
9. Identify opportunities for automation, improved efficiency and value for money.
10. Maintain the chart of accounts and coding structures in line with organisational reporting needs.
11. Support both internal and external audits with system documentation and evidence.
12. Assist with the year‑end closedown process.
Essential Experience & Skills
13. Proven experience working with finance systems, including implementation, enhancement, testing and user support.
14. Experience integrating finance systems with feeder systems, managing data flows, interfaces and reconciliations.
15. Ability to diagnose and resolveplex technical or systems‑related issues.
16. Experience evaluating system investment options, contributing to business cases and making value‑for‑money rmendations.
A proactive, analytical and solution‑focused approach will be key to success in this role.
