Role Overview
We are recruiting a Local Housing Manager to provide excellent housing and estate services to our rented properties within a defined geographical patch. The role is based predominantly in office hours of 9:00–17:30, with an expected 37.5‑hour week, Monday to Friday. You will spend time on‑site three days per week and in‑house two days at the Chalkhill office, with occasional flexibility for supporting community initiatives, including occasional weekend work.
Responsibilities
* Act as the front‑facing representative of MTVH, coordinating internal and external services to meet the diverse needs of customers.
* Manage relationships with the local authority and other housing association partners.
* Serve as the point of contact for customers regarding ASB complaints, estate services, tenancy management, tenancy enforcement and lettings management.
* Provide excellent customer service to individuals with complex or challenging needs.
* Analyze customer feedback and employ administrative skills to achieve service improvements.
* Report on projects against agreed targets and manage the inbox, keys, and other office tasks.
* Participate in community initiatives, supporting customers on occasion with flexible working hours, including weekend work where required.
Qualifications
* Essential: Car user full driving licence; experience working in a social housing setting.
* Experience in a supported housing environment is desirable.
* Working knowledge of housing practice, housing law, and principles of service charge management is essential.
* Strong administration skills, attention to detail, numeracy and accurate reporting.
* Proficiency in face‑to‑face, phone and written customer communication.
* Ability to self‑manage a varied and demanding workload, prioritising and organising.
* Self‑starter with innovation, initiative, empathy and passion.
* Strong team player, capable of collaborating, networking and working flexibly.
Desirable
* Housing qualification.
Background Check
We will complete a basic background check with the Disclosure and Barring Service once an offer of employment is made. The cost will be paid by MTVH and the check will be repeated every three years.
