Qualifications
* Minimum qualification in Level 4 Counselling, with industry knowledge, experience and insight to prepare and deliver purposeful teaching, learning and assessment for learners to progress to next steps.
* Formally supervised within a counselling setting (supervision qualification desirable).
* Lead on the design and development of new programmes.
* Form good working relationships with industry professionals.
* Internally quality assure programmes assigned in line with policies and procedures and awarding organisation guidance.
* Maintain evidence of occupational competence and CPD.
* Attend standardisation/team meetings as required.
* Hold a relevant teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
As a Lecturer You Should
* Hold a teaching degree, or a willingness to achieve one within 2 years.
* A minimum Level 4 qualification in Counselling.
* Have experience of being a supervisor within a counselling setting to support occupational competence (supervision qualification desirable).
* Hold GCSE A* - C / 9 - 4 in English/Maths or equivalent.
* Hold assessors/IQA qualifications or willingness to achieve.
* Experience using e-learning platforms such as Equal, Google Classroom and others or willingness to learn.
You Should Be Able To Demonstrate
* Professional and academic competence / qualifications to teach on the qualifications.
* Experience of adopting a range of teaching and learning strategies.
* Use of e-learning platforms such as Equal, Google Classroom and others or willingness to learn.
* Time management skills to show how you manage the priorities of planning of lessons and assessing learner work.
Key Accountabilities
* Deliver teaching and learning to at least a consistently good or outstanding standard.
* Assess accurately learners’ work, both formative and summative, against appropriate awarding body criteria to ensure learners achieve their qualifications, which may include work placement visits.
* Teach online lessons (where appropriate) as well as teaching in centres, including outreach across the city as needed, and possibly occasional evening classes.
* Have excellent digital skills to support learners to actively engage in their programme of learning and develop key workplace digital standards.
* Take some course leadership responsibilities.
* Take part in team meetings and working groups.
* Comply with the services quality assurance procedures.
* Comply with the services policies and procedures.
* Take personal and professional responsibility for keeping up to date in the subject area.
