From strategic masterplans and new settlements to urban extensions and regeneration schemes, you’ll help shape sustainable, inclusive, and design-led communities that stand the test of time. Key Responsibilities: Lead and deliver urban design and master planning projects from concept to completion Manage and mentor junior team members, supporting their growth and development Produce high-quality graphics, reports, site layouts, design codes, and planning documentation Work directly with clients, land promoters, developers, and local authorities Support business development activities, including contributing to bids and project proposals Collaborate with in-house and external teams including architects, planners, and engineersWhat We’re Looking For: We're seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Associate Urban Designer who brings a strong blend of creativity, technical ability, and strategic thinking. The ideal candidate will have: A relevant postgraduate qualification in Urban Design, or a strong interest in urban design and master planning supported by a qualification in a related field such as Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or Town Planning Proven UK-based experience working within an urban design or master planning consultancy, with a portfolio that includes residential, mixed-use, or employment land projects for national housebuilders, land promoters, or developers A solid understanding of current urban design and placemaking principles within the UK planning context Strong design flair and the ability to translate high-level strategic concepts into detailed and deliverable design solutions Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas to clients and colleagues alike Chartered Membership of the RTPI or working towards chartership; alternatively, recognition as a Practitioner in Urban Design or a willingness to pursue it Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, and SketchUp; experience with Vectorworks and QGIS would be advantageous Confidence in hand sketching and drawing, with the ability to communicate ideas visually at early design stages A collaborative mindset and the ability to lead and contribute to multidisciplinary teams, maintaining a keen eye for detail throughout A proactive attitude to continuous learning and professional development, with up-to-date industry knowledge The legal right to work in the UK (essential)Why Apply?
