The Filton Plant focuses primarily on the manufacture of wings and wing components for the Airbus family of aircraft: specifically, A400M fully equipped wings and the A350 gear beam. It also includes the Wing Technology Development Centre (WTDC) and the Additive Layer Manufacturing (ALM) reference centre. We are seeking an individual who can demonstrate appropriate experience of delivering IT services in a fast-moving industrial environment. A position is available at the Filton site for Information Technologies within Operational Technologies (IT in OT) Specialists. You will plan and carry out activities to ensure the information systems inside production assets are well serviced, taking responsibility for IT deployment, machine software configuration, validation, scheduled maintenance and IT reactive maintenance. As well as the upgrade and disposal of IT business owned software, business owned information systems hardware, business owned IT network devices as well as business owned operating systems. The Filton IT in OT Specialists work flexible day shift pattern on-site and may be required to perform on-call duty. Responsibilities Identify, categorise, diagnose and resolve IT in OT related problems at industrial asset level Plan, install and configure software and hardware Manage network equipment at machine level Manage accounts and workstations Maintain and secure passwords, file system security and data integrity Manage, maintain, update and upgrade systems, Operating Systems and Software with new releases Support new projects, data flow evaluations and budget/time calculations Build Hardware and Software documentation and inventory, responsible for IT related data management Manage hardware and software licensing Maintain backup and restore means according to policies Support IT components disposal according to policies Monitor systems according to policies Apply relevant security measures such as antivirus / security patches / network segregation Perimeter Providing IT in OT support to eliminate production deviations within detail manufacture, sub assembly / final assembly, builds and Final Assembly Lines (FAL). The main perimeter is the deployment, sustainability and continuous improvement of the processes, and covers the entire production area within scope. You will have an operational link with the Support Functions that are part of the production team. Your interface will be Production, as users of the industrial assets with the Information Technologies within, co-working with the Industrial Maintenance team and engaging with relevant Digital product managers and support levels within the organisation. You will also liaise with Original Equipment Manufacturers and Software editors.Skill Set Essential Previous experience working within a Industrial environment supporting/maintaining Information Technology/Systems is preferred but not essential e.g. Numerical Control, SCADA, HMI Knowledge of Cyber Security practices ideally within an industrial context, being able to critically assess at 1st level the physical and digital security of assets Experience in performing Installations of Security software & system patches, ideally in an industrial context Including restoring those backups within the Industrial Assets An understanding of Networking infrastructure Planning & scheduling for Maintenance and Licence Management Effectively Managing IT documentation Leadership or Participation in IT projects with a basic understanding of project management Good Understanding MS Operating Systems including legacy systems Working knowledge of the Google Workspace Environment a plus but not essential The ability to communicate effectively to both IT professionals and end users Training will be provided for various tools and processes used by IT in OTDesirable Experience working within an IT services and support environment is desirable Experience of performing & maintaining software and database backups
