Job Overview
We’re looking for a practical, hands‑on Multi‑skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join a well‑established manufacturing business operating in a fast‑paced production environment. This is a permanent back shift role, offering a consistent routine without nights or weekends – ideal for someone who prefers later starts and a structured working pattern.
The role is mechanically biased, focusing on keeping production machinery running efficiently, minimising downtime, and supporting continuous improvement across the site.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production machinery
* Diagnose and repair mechanical faults efficiently
* Support breakdown response to minimise downtime
* Work on a variety of equipment including conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, motors, and general plant machinery
* Assist with basic electrical fault finding where required
* Contribute to continuous improvement and reliability projects
* Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures
Qualifications
* Strong mechanical maintenance background within manufacturing or production
* Multi‑skilled mindset with basic electrical fault‑finding ability
* Confident using a multi‑meter and working safely around electrical systems
* Able to identify key electrical components (contactors, relays, inverters, etc.)
* A practical, common‑sense approach to maintenance
* Someone reliable, steady, and happy working in a hands‑on role
* Not required to be electrically qualified, but must be competent and safe when working with and around electrical systems
Compensation and Benefits
* £46,000 salary
* Monday to Friday permanent back shift (2pm – 10pm)
* No weekends or night shifts
* Stable and supportive working environment
