Are you passionate about upholding high standards of information governance and ensuring compliance across a dynamic organisation?
We’re looking for a dedicated Policy Compliance Officer to join our collaborative and supportive Policy Compliance Team, working under the guidance of the Information Governance Manager.

Along with Information Governance responsibilities, the Policy Compliance Team oversees and manages Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, Subject Access Requests (SARs), Corporate Complaints, Children’s Social Care & Adult Social Care Complaints, and MP Casework.

About the role



As a Policy Compliance Officer, you’ll play a key role in delivering core compliance functions, including:

* Supporting the management and resolution of data breaches, including logging and tracking incidents.
* Monitoring and managing shared inboxes to ensure timely and accurate responses.
* Liaising with departments to maintain and update the Record of Processing Activities (RoPA).
* Tracking and reporting on GDPR training compliance across the organisation.
* Contributing to a range of Information Governance (IG) tasks and initiatives.

You will also be involved in:

* Coordinating and drafting responses to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.
* Managing and progressing Subject Access Requests (SARs) in line with statutory timeframes.
* Supporting the handling and resolution of Corporate, Children’s Social Care, and Adult Social Care complaints.
* Ensuring casework and statutory requests are processed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with relevant legislation.

You’ll be joining a team of five other Policy Compliance Officers, where collaboration, attention to detail, and a proactive approach are key to success.



Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week. Dependent on service requirements, you may be required to work on a rota basis. This is a hybrid role based in the office within the Town Hall 3 days per week and working from home for 2 days.
