About the Role
As a Stockyard Despatcher at our Warnham site, you will load vehicles with the correct quantity and type of brick in the safest and quickest manner in line with despatch tickets and Quality Assurance Manuals and assist other forklift truck drivers in the performance of their duties. You will be hands-on with the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing site; operate various factory machinery, equipment and forklifts whilst ensuring high levels of health and safety at all times. We will provide you with full training and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to enable you to safely and effectively work as a Stockyard Despatcher.
* Collect despatch notes from wagon drivers, determine the type and quantity of bricks required, and load the vehicle from the stock yard to minimise movement and damage during transportation
* Unload incoming goods
* Run the stockyard in a manner that ensures stock rotation
* Set aside broken packs to repair, re-pack or re-sort
* Ensure that all packaged bricks are transported and placed on the stockyard safely and efficiently
* Keep all areas free from waste and dispose of bricks and waste into appropriate areas
* Assist in keeping the stockyard plan updated
* Assist other forklift truck drivers as required
* Keep the forklift truck topped up with oil, fuel and water and keep it clean and tidy
* Report any truck defects to the Stockyard Team Leader
* Assist in stocktaking procedures
* Undertake DeHacker forklift Truck duties, as required
* Perform any other duties as required by Site Management
Hours of Work
7.00am – 4.00pm, Monday to Thursday, and 7.00am – 3.00pm, Friday
About You
* Current / valid RTITB, ITSSAR, NPORS or CPCS forklift truck license
* Enjoy working in a busy environment and are hands-on
* Flexible and able to adapt to changing daily priorities
* Committed to safety with good general safety awareness
* Physically able to perform varied and sometimes demanding duties
* Good literacy for paperwork
* Excellent time keeping
* Can-do attitude
* Good team working skills and ability to work unsupervised
Experience in a factory/manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential, as full training is provided.
