Mechanical Design Engineer - Manufacturing Sector Salary: £28,000-£35,000 (DOE) Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Merseyside Company Turnover : £15-£20 million per year About the Role We are seeking a motivated and detail-driven Mechanical Design Engineer to join our fast-paced manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with 1-5 years of experience who is looking to develop their skills within a dynamic environment where products move rapidly from concept to production. You will work on a mix of bespoke customer projects and standard product ranges, contributing to high-quality engineering solutions that support our continued growth. Key Responsibilities Produce high-quality assemblies and detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks. Develop mechanical designs for bespoke and standard products, ensuring manufacturability and cost-effectiveness. Work closely with production, procurement and project teams to support smooth and efficient product delivery. Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Modify and update existing designs in response to customer requirements or internal improvements. Support rapid prototyping and testing activities to validate design concepts. Ensure all design work complies with relevant standards, specifications and internal quality processes. About You Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent discipline. 1-5 years' experience in a mechanical design or product development role, ideally within manufacturing. Proficient in SolidWorks with strong 3D modelling and technical drawing skills. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with quick turnaround times. Strong problem-solving ability and a practical approach to engineering challenges. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a small, collaborative team.
