As the Lead Property Health & Safety Manager, you will be accountable for the Property Safety Team to support the Property Development function to provide safe & compliant facilities for our customers, colleagues & suppliers.

You will be responsible for:

Lead the Property Safety team, providing mentorship, support, and training
Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in line with CDM and Building Safety Act requirements
Ensure all property safety measures align with CDM regulations and serve as the proficient person responsible for coordinating the organization's compliance with the Building Safety Act, ensuring all safety protocols and regulations are meticulously followed
Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address identified hazards
Follow our Business Code of Conduct and always act with integrity and due diligence
Innovate and drive improvements in Property safety compliance, as per Tesco Blueprint, ensuring appropriate safety management for all Tesco standards to make the business a safe place to work and shop
Maintain the Property Safety Management System to the Tesco Blueprint compliance and alignment it to ISO 45001. - Maintain CPD & property industry standard process knowledge including working with associations outside Tesco
Provide training and development opportunities for team members on CDM and Building Safety Act requirements
Facilitate & support a Property wide safety steering & governance process including issue of Property safety reports for UKHSC, Channels, etc
Lead Property material safety incidents investigations and work with GPS on GPS material case investigations
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, audits, and incidents

You will need:

Safety diploma or degree level qualification
Extensive knowledge of CDM regulations and the Building Safety Act
Experience in property safety management and team leadership
Experience of policy development/implementation and working with enforcement bodies
Safety or operational experience in Property
Development/Construction in retail or related environment
Management of safety change projects involving colleagues or suppliers
