Job Title: Agricultural Underwriter Department: iFarm Underwriting Location: Hybrid (Northallerton) Role Summary To provide underwriting and development support to our customers and key stakeholders across the business, focusing on our suite of core products. To provide a professional and comprehensive underwriting and administration service within the business, with strong emphasis on underwriting excellence, customer service and broker development. Role Responsibilities Underwriting / Development Develop, negotiate and support the underwriting of new business, renewals and mid-term adjustments within own authority and in line with strategy Control and underwrite new business and renewal book within authority and in line with strategy Plan, prioritise and manage individual own work to deliver agreed objectives and meet SLA’s to deliver exceptional customer service Liaise with brokers daily, answering incoming telephone calls and building lasting professional relationships with brokers to ensure our mutual successes. Work periodically with the management team to review our proposition and make recommendations Support with Policy Issuance Compliance Establish and maintain knowledge of internal controls and all procedures relating to underwriting. Ensure you uphold Imperium’s principle of Treating Customers Fairly Undertake training relevant to the role Education and Qualifications Strong level of technical underwriting expertise in a commercial insurance environment, at least 5 years’ underwriting experience Good experience of underwriting and risk management principles and sound knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements for insurance Insurance qualifications e.g. CII (Desirable) Knowledge & Experience Ability to manage own time, meet deadlines and prioritise work Excellent written and verbal communication. Pragmatic decision maker with ability to analyse and interpret. Strong analytic skills and numerical aptitude will be essential. Team worker with the ability to work on own initiative. Outcome focused. Professional approach to relationships with an affinity for trading with brokers Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
