Subsea Project Manager (Shore-End)

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of all onshore elements of a major subsea fibre optic cable system. This role oversees the full onshore scope - from design and procurement through to installation, testing, and commissioning - while acting as the primary interface between internal project teams, suppliers, and the Purchaser’s Landing Party.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Responsibilities
* Interface with supply chain leads to oversee procurement, vendor coordination, and equipment readiness.
* Work closely with engineering teams on the design and technical package for CLS equipment, BMH, OGB, and ducting.
* Coordinate with the marine group to ensure smooth integration between shore-end operations and onshore works.
* Provide support to the POW/PCR lead, including documentation, change control, and progress reporting.
External Responsibilities
Act as the primary interface lead with the Purchaser’s Landing Party for all onshore workstreams, including:
1. Design
* CLS (Cable Landing Station) equipment
* Ducting between the Beach Manhole (BMH) and CLS
* OGB (Outer Grounding Block)
* BMH design and associated civil works
2. Supply & Installation
* CLS equipment supply and installation
* Cable installation between BMH and CLS
* OGB installation and earthing system
3. Testing & Commissioning
* CLS equipment testing and verification
* End-to-end system testing in coordination with marine and engineering teams
* Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
* Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar role within telecommunications, subsea cable systems, or fibre optic infrastructure.
* Strong technical knowledge of telecoms systems, including submarine fibre optic networks.
* Proven experience in cable installation, including shore-end or onshore fibre works.
* Background in civil engineering, particularly relating to ducting, BMH, OGB, and onshore infrastructure.
* Experience with CLS fit-out, equipment integration, and commissioning activities.
* International project experience, including multi-stakeholder coordination.
* Strong interface management, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills
* Prior involvement with landing parties, local authorities, or shoreline permitting processes.
* Understanding of marine–onshore integration during subsea cable landings.
* Ability to manage complex interfaces and resolve technical or contractual issues proactively.
* Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination abilities.
