Your new role
As an Ie Officer, you will play a key role in maximising rental ie and supporting customers to sustain their tenancies. Working closely with internal teams, local authorities and external agencies, you will:
1. Manage rent accounts across all tenure types and take appropriate action to recover arrears.
2. Provide advice on welfare benefits, money management and financial inclusion.
3. Liaise with Housing Benefit teams and the Department for Work and Pensions to resolve queries and ensure accurate entitlements.
4. Prepare and present cases, including court applications, notices, and bundles when required.
5. Work proactively to identify vulnerabilities, make appropriate referrals, and support customers facing multiple tenancy issues.
6. Promote a rent‑first culture across the organisation.
7. Maintain accurate records and ensure all actions follow policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
This is a varied, fast paced role that makes a direct difference to customers and the wider organisation.
What you'll need to succeed You will bring:
8. Experience within social housing or a similar ie focused role.
9. Strong knowledge of welfare benefits, debt advice and ie maximisation.
10. Excellentmunication, negotiation and influencing skills.
11. Confidence managing caseloads, working independently and making informed decisions.
12. Ability to analyse data and present information clearly.
13. A calm, resilient approach, especially when working under pressure.
14. Flexibility to work occasional evenings or vary your hours when required.
15. A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle for business use.
