Job Description

At AECOM, our national team delivers a diverse range of exciting projects across the UK&I and around the world. We work in dynamic, multidisciplinary environments to design and deliver creative solutions for a broad mix of public and private sector clients — including Homes England, Universities, National Highways, HS2, the Environment Agency, Local Authorities, the National Trust, and a range of healthcare institutions. Our work spans development, energy transition, water, residential, government, and transportation, creating integrated and award-winning projects.

We are looking for Graduate Landscape Architects to join our planning and design teams. This role is ideal for a motivated and enthusiastic graduate who wants to develop their skills and build a rewarding career within an award-winning, innovative, and supportive team.

As part of one of the UK&I's largest and most diverse landscape practices, you'll have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of regionally significant projects — from regeneration and environmental enhancement to large-scale infrastructure and ground-breaking international schemes.

You'll be supported as you grow your experience and develop your career within a structured and friendly team environment. From day one, you'll be paired with an experienced mentor who will guide you as you begin contributing to live projects.

Role Responsibilities

* Work collaboratively with colleagues to produce drawings, visualisations, and technical documents — including concise reports — across different stages of LVIA, planning, and design projects.

* Contribute to client meetings, workshops, and presentations, developing creative and practical ideas to help solve complex design challenges.

* Apply your creativity and technical knowledge to integrate placemaking and climate resilience into project designs.

* Support project management activities, including assisting with schedules, budgets, and documentation under the guidance of senior team members.

* Prepare and check design drawings and technical materials using relevant software, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail at every stage.

* Communicate clearly and confidently — both in writing and in person — with clients, colleagues, and wider project teams.

* Build strong working relationships within the Landscape Architecture team and across multidisciplinary project teams.

* Take a proactive role in responding to client needs and contributing to the delivery of high-quality, sustainable design outcomes.

Qualifications

* Degree or Master's in Landscape Architecture (or equivalent qualification).
* Knowledge and understanding of the UK planning system in relation to landscape architecture.
* Experience of, or a strong desire to gain experience in, high-quality landscape and/or townscape and visual impact assessments and appraisals (LVIA/TVIA).
* Fluency in English, with excellent report-writing and communication skills — both verbal and written — and the confidence to engage with a variety of people (clients, colleagues, stakeholders, and sub-contractors).
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Experience with, or willingness to develop skills in, some or all of the following software:
o AutoCAD
o Adobe Creative Cloud
o Civil 3D
o Revit
* Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and hardworking, with ambition, curiosity, and strong research skills.
* Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently, demonstrating initiative and focus.
* Ability to work flexibly under pressure, responding to changing project and programme requirements.
* Strong attention to detail, with the ability to structure and prioritise tasks effectively through close cooperation with colleagues.
* A full UK driving licence is required, as the role may involve travel for site visits and surveys, occasionally requiring the transport of equipment.

Additional Information

* Applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible since CVs will be reviewed, and candidates selected on a rolling recruitment basis for either immediate or advanced offer start.
* Please include a covering letter with your application and provide all predicted and/or obtained academic grades and details of the dates you are able to work to/from and well as locations you would be interested in.
* You must have the right to work in the UK.
