Job Description: Your Impact Leonardo UK has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the Typhoon sector, supporting a new high-value, multi-national Test Equipment contract within the Euroradar consortium. This programme underpins future Captor radar production, repair and support capability across all consortium nations. Working closely with the Test Equipment Group, you will take full responsibility for multiple work packages within the contract. You will lead a cross-functional Integrated Project Team delivering complex hardware and software development through the full lifecycle — from concept and design through to manufacture, integration, acceptance and introduction into service. You will operate in a challenging, multi-stakeholder environment, coordinating across Engineering, Procurement, Commercial, Finance and Operations to ensure all deliverables meet technical, cost, schedule and quality objectives. Based on site in Edinburgh at least 3 days per week, you will be part of the Test Equipment team delivering new and upgraded test systems. As Senior Project Manager, you will: Report to the Lead Project Manager for Typhoon Test Equipment. Lead the IPT to ensure on-time delivery of all assigned test equipment work packages. Report project progress, financial performance, and risk status at monthly governance reviews. Drive effective cross-functional coordination across Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Commercial and Finance. Work closely with Procurement to manage key suppliers, de-risking material availability, long-lead items and manufacturing schedules. Ensure timely transition from legacy to new or upgraded Test Equipment, enabling future radar production and in-service support capability. Own project schedules, budgets, risks and assumptions, maintaining proactive control and accurate governance reporting. Support bid and proposal development for future Test Equipment contracts. Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, continuous improvement and delivery excellence within the IPT. What You Will Bring Proven project management experience delivering complex hardware and software projects in engineering, defence, aerospace or high-integrity environments. Strong, confident leadership style — assertive, credible and decisive, able to command respect across engineering, operations and supply chain. Resilience and determination to overcome technical, organisational and programme challenges. Excellent stakeholder management, with the credibility to influence at all levels internally and externally (including consortium partners and customers). Ability to manage tight timescales, shifting priorities and demanding delivery schedules. A collaborative team player with the ability to both support others and seek support when required. A proactive, self-starting approach, demonstrating a “can-do” attitude and the ability to drive issues to closure and maintain momentum. A structured, methodical and logical approach to planning, cost control, schedule management and risk/issue tracking. Experience using Microsoft and Project Management tools (e.g., MS Project, Excel, SharePoint). Personal Attributes Confident and composed under pressure, maintaining clarity and direction. Assertive, delivery-focused, and driven by high personal standards. Builds trust quickly and communicates with authority and influence. Balances firmness with empathy — approachable, fair, and measured, yet not easily swayed. Demonstrates professional integrity, ownership and accountability.
