Are you ready to lead a team of talented engineers and shape the future of Renewable Energy infrastructure?
We are currently seeking to appoint an individual to lead our Renewables Practice within the Energy Business. Reporting directly to and working closely with the Energy Business Director, you will be a key member of the Energy leadership team for the UK and Ireland region.
In this role, you will lead and manage the Renewables practice, with a specific focus upon project delivery, resource management, work winning, and people management and engagement. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our successful team with a focus on people, clients, technical excellence & quality, and operational efficiencies & sustainable growth. Your exceptional leadership skills will be instrumental in driving innovation and delivering a better world.
As a leader you will be responsible for fostering a culture of success, engagement, and development within the team while ensuring the successful management of projects from inception to completion. You will bring your deep understanding of the UK&I renewables energy market, coupled with your people and strategic thinking to drive success across your business area. You will utilise your extensive experience with leading highly dynamic and diverse teams to lead the design and delivery of major projects, whilst driving data-led performance improvements.
Here’s what you’ll do:
* Lead, manage and grow our incredible renewables practice team for the UK&I region.
* Drive project delivery excellence, ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget, and with high quality results.
* Collaborate with project managers and technical experts to allocate resources effectively and optimise project performance.
* Work with the Environment & Energy Client and Sector teams to develop and implement a growth plan aligned to the Strategic Plan.
* Identify and engage with key stakeholders for client projects, establishing effective engagement strategies to ensure resources are available for projects.
* Champion a proactive approach to work winning by identifying new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and participating in proposal development.
* Drive a culture where AECOM is recognised as a great place to work, promoting staff engagement and retention.
* Foster career development and develop succession plans for key positions within the renewables Practice.
* Attract new talent and lead strategic and senior recruitment.
* Monitor and manage the financial performance of the renewables practice against key metrics, including Gross Margin, utilisation, bookings, and future workload.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to delivery multi-disciplinary projects and programs, showcasing our excellence in work winning.
* Oversee project management from prepositioning and proposal development to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with high-quality results.
* Drive change programs to increase efficiency, profitability, and operational quality within the team.
* Identify and secure new business opportunities while ensuring client satisfaction with AECOM's performance.

Qualifications
Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?
Here’s what we’re looking for:
* Extensive experience in senior leadership roles, preferably within the energy consultancy industry.
* Demonstrated success in developing, growing, leading, and motivating diverse, multi-disciplinary teams.
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Engineering, etc.) or equivalent relevant experience. Advanced degree preferred.
* Proven experience in leading diverse teams and leading projects of varying scales.
* Proven track record in developing and growing client relationships.
* Strong understanding of the energy sector
* Demonstrated success in implementing change programs and driving data-driven performance improvements.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills.
* Flexibility, proactive approach to work, and ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
Ideally you'll have:
* Membership of a recognized professional body relative to our core markets.
* Master’s or Engineering Degree
* Strong track record of achieving/exceeding financial KPIs and driving business development.
* Experience working with various sectors, including infrastructure, energy, transportation, and commercial development.
* Experience in leading and growing large teams and successful financial performance and business development/sales/growth experience in the public or private sectors.
