We are looking for a dynamic Category Manager to develop insight-focused recommendations that enable key retailer partnerships and outperformance for our brands and customers.
The Role
The Category Manager develops insight-focused recommendations to enable strong retailer partnerships and drive category growth for our brands and customers.
Reporting into: Senior Category Manager
Key Accountabilities
* Develop, maintain and enhance strategic customer partnerships aligned with the category strategy and customer engagement process to deliver in-market execution and category growth for retailer partners.
* Deliver a full Category Management service to two key customers, ensuring category and shopper insights translate into in-store and online executions.
* Collaborate with the multi-functional Commercial Team to grow the category and PZC brands, achieving NSV targets and overall category growth for specified customers.
* Provide category/customer/shopper insights to inform brand and channel strategies.
* Work with the brand team to ensure development, delivery and commercial success as the voice of the customer in the UK.
* Conduct competitor and retailer analysis to continuously improve performance.
* Contribute to the ongoing review and improvement of the reporting suite.
* Influence NPD processes, communicating operational and on-shelf impacts and contributing to selling stories.
* Demonstrate PZC BEST values in interactions with colleagues, clients and suppliers.
* Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and other standards as directed by line management.
Critical KPIs
* Share growth for PZC and retailers (IRI/Kantar figures).
* Accurate and timely reporting and insights.
* Distribution and shelf space targets (PICOS, core range).
Key Relationships
* External: buyers and merchandising teams of key customers; Circana, Kantar, IGD and JDA where relevant.
* Internal: PZC Commercial Team, Insights, Brand Marketing, and other related functions.
Experience and Skills
* Degree or equivalent experience.
* At least 1 year of category management experience.
* Strong presenting/selling/commercial skills.
* Experience using external data (e.g., Kantar, IRI, DunnhuMbY) to deliver insights.
* Experience using Space Planning tools (JDA).
* Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills.
* Strong cross-functional and team-working abilities.
* High energy, enthusiasm and adaptability; creative and solution-focused.
* Comfort communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
