General Position Summary: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer to join our operations team. As part of the Audio Reproduction Group, the Buyer will report to the Operations Manager and be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring a wide range of components and materials essential to our business needs. This role supports multiple companies and brands such as Martin Audio, Optimal Audio, Linea Research, TiMax and OutBoard Motor Control. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with engineering, production and supply chain teams to ensure the timely availability of parts, maintain optimal inventory levels, and support cost-effective purchasing strategies that align with the company’s operational goals. Essential Functions and Main Responsibilities: Raise and maintain all purchase orders for stock and sundry items Liaise with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries aligned with the production schedule Manage and develop day-to-day relationships with suppliers and internal teams Maintain and update pricing across relevant products and services Source and quote new items from existing and potential suppliers, ensuring best value is achieved Maintain ERP master data to support Production, Planning, Procurement, and Sales teams Secondary Functions: Collaborate with other departments to meet purchasing requirements in line with internal processes Resolve delivery and invoice discrepancies Participate in supplier visits as required Support clear communication of project timelines, material deliveries, key deadlines, and purchase orders to ensure timely implementation of changes Interpersonal Contacts: Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism and act in the best interests of the company at all times Expected to interact daily with members of the Operations team, R&D, in-house Production and Warehouse staff, as well as external suppliers and contract manufacturers Education: Formal training or certification in Supply Chain Management or Procurement is advantageous Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience in a manufacturing procurement role An understanding of manufacturing processes and the role of procurement within it Competent use of ERP systems and understanding of BOM structures Strong verbal and written communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications, such as Excel, Outlook, Word, SharePoint and OneDrive Excellent organisational and time-management skills Job Conditions: Martin Audio UK is situated in High Wycombe, with this site including Factory Production, Research & Development, Marketing, Sales, Service, Sourcing, and Central Functions (martin-audio.com). This is a full-time position of 37.5 hours per week over the standard working hours of 8.45am to 5.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.45am to 4pm on Friday. An hour is allowed for lunch Monday to Thursday and 45 minutes on Friday. Hybrid working pattern would likely be 3 days per week in the office, with 2 days per week working from home.
