EXCITING CAREER DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITY IN TROPICAL BRUNEI FOR SECONDARY TEACHERS
CfBT Education Services (part of Education Development Trust) has been working with the Brunei Darussalam government for 40 years to support its bilingual education policy. CfBT is committed to providing excellent education during the secondary project, which concludes in December 2026. This is a unique opportunity for secondary teachers dedicated to quality education to join this long-running ESL project for 9-16 months. We are seeking secondary English teachers to start in government schools in Brunei during 2025/2026.
If you are a qualified, experienced secondary English teacher seeking ESL/EAL teaching experience in an international setting and wish to gain industry-recognized qualifications, we offer an exciting ‘Teach and Learn’ package with benefits including:

Note: Unused grant funds will be paid as part of the Contract Completion Bonus. If not used, the bonus will be 1/6th of earned salary.

Eligibility criteria include:
1. Holding a degree from Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, UK, South Africa, USA, or an EU country.
2. Qualified Teacher Status/teacher accreditation (PGCE, BEd, etc.). TEFL certification alone is insufficient.
3. At least 3 years of relevant classroom teaching post-qualification, including 1 year of English/ESL teaching.
4. Willingness to drive and obtain a Bruneian driving license.
5. Under 55 years old at arrival.
