About the Role: This is a great opportunity to join the Youth Voice and Influence Service, supporting the development of Sheffield young peoples’ voices across the city. You will support qualified youth workers to ensure that young people are listened to, involved and able to shape services locally, regionally and nationally.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Sessional Youth Worker to assist the Youth Voice & Influence team in planning, organising and delivering face‑to‑face sessions and activities with young people. This will include some evening work (2 max) occasional Saturday and/ or school holiday sessions (7 hours per week)
You do not need to be a professionally qualified youth worker for this role, but you should have:
1. Experience of working or volunteering with young people (aged 11–25).
2. An understanding of youth participation and involvement activities.
3. A passion for supporting young people to share their views and take part in social action.
4. A commitment to equality, inclusion and creative youth work practice.
Key Responsibilities:
5. Support the delivery of youth voice and influence activities across the city.
6. Assist in facilitating group sessions, meetings and events with diverse groups of young people.
7. Support young people take part in consultations, social action and decision‑making opportunities.
8. Build positive relationships to encourage regular participation and reduce barriers to involvement.
