Working with an global enterprise software business looking for a senior product & engineering leader to step in and take hands‐on control of a Planning & Scheduling Optimisation (PSO) product group during a critical transition. This is a Director‐level interim role reporting to the VP of Optimisation & Simulation. You'll operate as the Engineering Director for PSO, owning product, engineering, quality, and delivery day‐to‐day.
The mission (first 3–4 months):
Transform the PSO team to be AI‐native and agent‐first, stabilise engineering quality, resolve entrenched cultural issues, and embed AI‐driven automation across the full delivery lifecycle. This is not advisory. You will lead, decide, and execute.
Key outcomes you'll be accountable for:
* A clear agent‐first product and architecture model, with AI agents embedded across build, test, data, and ops
* A visible cultural reset: outcome ownership, high trust, high accountability
* Measurable improvement in quality and predictability (defects, rework, regressions)
* AI used systematically across specs, testing, risk identification, and release validation
Background sought:
* Former VP / Director‐level leader in product‐heavy engineering organisations
* Proven experience with AI‐first or agentic systems in production would be a nice to have
* Deep exposure to complex, data‐heavy or optimisation software
* Track record of turning around teams and raising quality without killing speed
