We’re looking for an experienced Biomedical Scientist for a permanent Team Leader role (job share or part-time applicants may apply).

Key Responsibilities
* Training lead for Microbiology including apprenticeships, registration portfolios, and specialist portfolios.
* Manage a technical section within the Department, directing the work of other scientific and support staff.
* Provide and coordinate specialist clinical technical services, including research and audit.
* Develop the section in line with departmental objectives.
* Provide a lead role in the training and instruction of staff within the section.
Key Requirements
* HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist.
* Specialist Portfolio or equivalent experience.
* MSc or equivalent qualification.
* Advanced experience of microbiology.
* Experience in training and supporting registration and specialist portfolios in medical microbiology.
* Knowledge of recognition and identification of bacteria and other micro‑organisms.
* Flexibility to work out of hours and weekends.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
