About The Role
We are looking for an experienced officer to join Wirral's Community Safety service to be at the forefront of the Council's civil protection duties and overall preparedness for civil emergency and business disruption.
The officer will lead the programme of work for the Council to uphold statutory responsibilities outlined within the Civil Contingencies Act (2004). This includes the development and testing of plans and procedures for preparedness, response and recovery phases of a civil emergency, as well as managing the Business Continuity Programme for the Council. The officer will be the Council’s representative on Merseyside Resilience Forum, working locally with partners and regionally with agencies from across the Northwest, to plan and prepare co-operatively for disruptive major incidents that may impact Wirral.
About The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a similar role, ideally in an emergency service, and a good working knowledge of the relevant legislation.
This post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at the appropriate level and Non-Police Personnel Level 2 (NPPV2F) clearance.
